Once upon a time, after the telco I worked for changed its workforce allocation areas & zones, I was tasked with fixing a telephone line in a place called Rokeby, which is some 40 minutes drive from my home address.
But I had to reject the job, because the staff allocating the work had failed to consider the actual location of said faulty phone line. It was Rokeby alright, but the one in Tasmania, not Victoria.
The difference is a mere 14 hours of travel time with the work van, including 10·5 hours to cross Bass Strait by ferry, the 3 more hours to cross from the north of Tas where the ferry arrives to the south where the faulty phone line was!
