I was grateful today for all the built-in safety-assist devices and setting s in the newer car today as I had a 45 minute drive to a friend’s place in very heavy rain. I set the adaptive cruise control to maintain a 3-second travel time gap to the next vehicle ahead of me. The rain was too heavy for the rain sensing wipers to cope, I had to use the high setting for that. By default, the car selected daytime running lights but in that mode the taillights aren’t on and it wasn’t dark enough for the auto headlights on to work. So I had to use the manual headlight override setting.
