Asparagus is in season at present, 90% of Australia's asparagus is grown on market gardens a few km to the south. About 50 km away is a cheese factory that sells farm-produced pasteurised full-cream milk which tastes magnificent. They sell it in most shops within a 30 km radius, which includes a township on the edge of the asparagus growing area. I was there last night, collecting my regular four litres of milk, so I topped up on asparagus as well.
Cut 7 spears into 1-inch lengths, steamed for four minutes & served with a simple cheese sauce. Superb.
