Efficiency.
I visited Western Australia for my nephew’s wedding in 2010 & stayed for three weeks. Sometime in the first week I lost the charger for my Canon IX 95 camera, a tiny 10 MP thing that easily fits in a shirt pocket.
Amazingly it still had enough charge to take hundreds more photos on that trip and lasted until I could buy a replacement charger once I was home again.
