@matigo About 20 years ago I was working beside a busy suburban arterial around peak hour, with four streams of traffic thundering by, most irritating. I had some cheap wired headphones with a noise reduction circuit so I wore those with NR on but not plugged into anything. I could see the traffic, I could feel the vibrations of its passing but the mind-numbing noise was quite faint.
