Had to elevate the iMac to get it to a decent working height, sat it on top of an Android tablet box. Plus I found I could fit the Logitech AudioHub I've had for years underneath & behind the iMac with just enough clearance to access the USB 3·0 ports at the back.
The AudioHub is a 2.1 stereo /subwoofer speaker; powered USB 2·0 hub & external sound card. Plug it into a USB port & select it in System Preferences>Sound.
Rated at 15 watts RMS it really kicks out much better audio than the standard speakers.
For the record, these pics are from Google Images but I do own a camera & iPod that are identical to those shown.
The stereo speakers slide in & out about 4 cm on each side.
