@variablepulserate That worked. Previously if the Mac was off with the cover open, connecting the power would elicit a charging chime like an iOS thingie, then the Mac would boot up.
Not now, though. Now under such circumstances after connecting the power & hearing the chime a battery level indicator briefly shows on the screen.
Autoboot when opening the cover is also disabled.
