At a family reunion 9 years ago, a cousin whose son was in a Victorian-based swimming comp in Wangaratta asked my youngest brother if he knew anything of an up & coming junior part-Aboriginal girl called Annie P, who was blitzing the comp in not only her age group but the next two as well.
Our cousin said she knew the prodigy lived somewhere in Gippsland, as did my brother. He said, "Perhaps you should ask the girl's aunt." Turning to his wife he said "Kris, tell them about your niece, Annie."
It's truly a small world.
