@hybotics The sound part of the bell is an adjunct, indeed the wee beastie has quickly learned how to move without making a sound from it.
The outside access door (cut into the laundry door) has a magnetically activated catch to prevent other cats getting inside for a free feed. But because Mittens managed to lose the existing magnet, I've had to improvise this solution.
