@hybotics Excellent news, Dale. I’m glad to hear from you again.
@gtwilson Yeah, stupid bastards. I loved the apparent simplicity & usability of the OS. The settings area was where the real power of the platform existed. I find the semi-permanent twitch in my hands makes it difficult to hold an iPhone SE steadily enough for blur-free photos. But I have no such trouble with the (huge) 6-inch Lumia 1520.

I’m still grimly hanging onto Windows 10 Mobile with a Lumia 1520 as my spare phone. Also have a Lumia 1020 in my camera bag for special shots where 38 MP becomes useful. It’s on WP 8.1, can’t be upgraded. @gtwilson

@larand Personal experience tells me the former federated Mastodon (but now standalone) instance of counter.social is vigourously conforming to the fair play rules. Trolls rarely last more than a few hours.
User’s email addresses are regularly checked for compromised logins, I’ve changed three different hacked passwords due to data breaches.

Just found a pair of USB Bluetooth 2·0 dongles, ideal for use with older G3 & G4 PowerBooks. For some reason. the two Pismo G3s won’t connect to my home network unless I set up one that’s unsecured. Using the Bluetooth dongles I can share internet from Macs; iPhone; iPad or Lumia 1520.
Bought a battery charger from ALDI several years ago, couldn’t find the manual but downloaded one easily. Turns out it has 6 & 12 volt charge cycles, including an extra low charge rate for lead-acid batteries between 7.3 & 10.5 volts. This charge rate is up to 800 mA then when(if) the battery reaches more than 10.5 volts it goes into a trickle charge mode.
Other cycles are for motorbike batteries & for low-temperature charging conditions.
Office supply store where I bought the MacBook Pro sells 128 GB cellular iPad 6s for $797 each. That cones down to $749 each if you buy a bulk package of 20 of the things.
@matigo Now showing Aug 6 & 7 episodes in PocketCasts.

The Men’s Shed group rents buildings at a retirement village. The gardener is a lady in her late fifties, super fit & runs a fitness class before turning up for work at the village at 9 am. We never know what form of transport she’ll use each time: there’s a classic ’66 Mustang, a Toyota Land Cruiser tray truck, a Harley Davidson motorbike, a plain small car or the big old land yacht she used today.
It’s a Ford LTD in unconverted left-hand drive.
