Toilet, snack & coffee break at a freeway service centre.

8:15 am. Been on the road since 4:55 am, one brief stop 106 km ago. Only 60 km to go, according to the GPS.

Correct. Her mansion is at the start of the southern end of the road.

There’s a terrific driving road called the Melba Highway, when the idiots get out of the way it’s fun to drive on. One hilly section climbs Mt Slide: there’d been a vehicle accident there recently & the was a sign out proclaiming “Oil on road.”

Trip is going well, rain falling gently. I’m at halfway timewise & over halfway re distance.

It’s made a lot harder by the festering morons who’ve no clue about how to drive on single carriageway roads. However in only 32 km I’ll be on the freeway.
Stopped at a fuel station/general store, it’s almost 7am & it’s yet to open.
Thirty minutes until sunrise.

Finally got Sygic to update its maps & settings. Had to uninstall & reinstall several times, though.

The best-laid plans, etc, etc. Nav app continues to have trouble downloading the updates.
Might have to fish out the Lumia 1020 and use its version of Sygic.

Discoverd the navigation app I propose using for today’s road trip has map updates available, 598 MB worth.
I’ll be using Sygic on the Lumia 1520, it’s screen is 2 inches larger than that of the iPhone SE.

Washing shirts & cleaning jackets & buying trousers suitable for the funeral tomorrow. Last time I visited that place for my uncle’s funeral it was the height of summer last year, temperatures were around 38℃, I was grateful for the lightweight woolen suit..
Tomorrow, for my aunt’s funeral the temperature might exceed 12℃. That lightweight suit can stay on its hanger at home.

I saw Ewen’s lattest tweet mentioning your participation too late to join in via the chatroom. Still, I can always download the video or audio when the podcast is released.
