@variablepulserate That's a compromise Apple also made with the 12-inch G4 PowerBook range: FireWire 400-only. It was introduced in 2003 and the 15 & 17-inch models had both FW 400 & 800. Of my PowerBook collection, the 2005 12-in has the most powerful processor, 1.5 GHz.
