Update time again. I have four Macs to update to macOS 26.5; two iPads needing iPadOS 26.5; an iPhone already on iOS26.5; Apple Watch needing watchOS 26.5; two Apple TV 4k units needing tvOS 26.5 and five HomePods getting audioOS 26.5.
Rather than the incremental update of macOS via Software Update I'm downloading the InstallAssistant.pkg 26.5 direct from Apple, via the mrmacintosh.com website. The InstallAssistant.pkg when run will add the full Tahoe 26.5 installer to your Applications folder. Once run, it is deleted when the Mac reboots into the new macOS version.
I maintain an archive of all macOS installers right back to OS 10.3 Panther on two external SSDs for use on other Macs.
