@matigo I have a Pismo G3 PowerBook with a faulty HD interface. It boots fine from a 32 GB 333x CompactFlash card (essentially an SSD) via a FireWire 400 CF card reader. The max OS it can use is 10.4.11. Testing shows it boots up faster from an external FW HD but when actually running, the CF card is a lot snappier.
