Crunch time for iur Mac User Group. We can't (at present) stay ahead of our costs. The only way to keep going past Xmas will be to change the way the monthly magazine is delivered. The options are: print one every second month or stop the printing altogether & just use the colour PDF form. Printing costs around $2300 per month & mailing them is $500 more. We're losing about $1400 per month, so a bi-monthly print run will bring us back on track. The problem is the acerage age of the 600 or so members, it's around 73. A certain percentage aren't going to appreciate the loss of a printed magazine.
Committee crisis meeting next Tuesday night.
We may consider a print-on-demand deal if the price is favourable but that's looking dodgy, too. Plus the ancient X-seeve that runs our BBS needs replacing with a rack-mounted Mac Mini server, that's another $1500 needed. Looks like the club may make it to 37 years old.
